Once there was a curious cat
Who roamed the streets and never sat
She chased mice and birds with glee
And climbed trees as easily as a bee

She explored alleys and lanes at night
And basked in the moon's ethereal light
She was a fearless feline queen
And nothing in the world was ever seen

But one day, as she roamed the land
She came across a mouse's den
And in the dark, she saw a pair of eyes
That shone like stars in the midnight skies

The cat froze, and the mouse did too
They stared at each other, what else could they do?
Then the mouse spoke, in a voice so kind
"Oh dear cat, I know you are blind

But please, don't eat me, I beg of you
I have a family, and they love me too
We all live in harmony, cat and mouse
Please, let us coexist, in this small house"

The cat was touched by the mouse's words
And decided, that day, to leave her prey undisturbed
She left the den and roamed once more
But she knew, deep down, that she had grown a little more

For she had learned that kindness goes a long way
And that sometimes, in this world, we must learn to stray
From our instincts, and embrace the new
For that is how we grow and renew
